Implementing the first scientific forum in partnership between the Colleges of Developmental Social Work and the College of Navigation Science and Space Technology “Space Technology in the Service of Society”

Today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the first scientific forum was held in partnership between the Colleges of Developmental Social Work and the College of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology, “Space Technology in the Service of Society.”
This is due to the state’s keenness and interest in making space science and technology applications part of its sustainable development plan as a cross-section that serves all development sectors of society and in order to highlight the role of space technology as a strategic axis with the importance and future of developing space science and technology in the service of society while shedding light on the role of education and training in preparing the necessary human resources for space technology applications and exchanging knowledge and experiences between university colleges, other universities, research centers, and relevant bodies and institutions.
This forum will be a prelude to the launch of the first international conference to highlight the role of space technology in serving society to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
It is worth noting that it is considered the first forum in this regard at the level of Egyptian universities and institutes.
Many distinguished working papers were also shared by eminent scholars from the college’s faculty. The first working paper was entitled Space Technology Mechanisms and Community Development Sustainability, and it was presented by Prof. Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Dean of the College of Developmental Social Work.
The second working paper is entitled Rational Treatment of Suwayfi Society Issues - Space Technologies by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahim, vice-dean of the faculty.
The third title paper is entitled “Introducing Space Technology in Empowering Women and Achieving Sustainable Development,” by Assistant Professor at Planning Department/Mukhles Ramadan Balih.
Many technical lectures were also presented by professors from the Egyptian Space Agency, the Remote Sensing Authority, the General Meteorological Authority, and a number of faculty members at the Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology.
Many faculty members and the college’s supporting staff participated in the preparation and organization of the forum, making it succeed as the first forum of its kind in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
